New Delhi: Mike McCarthy, Executive Vice President and General Manager of CNN International, shared a note with his team yesterday on announcing and congratulating Vedika Sud’s promotion to a Reporter.
She will be responsible for leading the editorial agenda and news gathering in India and the region. Sud has been a broadcast journalist for over 13 years in India. She has worked as a primetime anchor, reporter and producer with English language national news networks including India Today, NewsX and Times Now.
During her career, Sud has covered a variety of stories, including environmental issues, national and regional elections, politics, terror attacks, and social and gender equality.
Mike McCarthy said, “I wanted to follow up on the news Jeff shared on the morning editorial call just now and congratulate Vedika Sud on her promotion to Reporter, based in our New Delhi bureau.
Since joining us as a Field Producer in January, Vedika has done some absolutely terrific work driving our coverage of Covid-19 in South Asia, as well as documenting the escalating tensions between India and China, and keeping our audiences updated with news and analysis across business and culture in India. Having been a journalist for 13 years, including as a prime-time anchor, reporter and producer at some of India’s leading news networks, she brings a range of skills to our New Delhi operation.”
Sud graduated with a degree in English Literature from Sophia College for Women in Mumbai. She is originally from Kolkata and is fluent in Hindi and Bengali.
