Chennai: With contribution of close to 30% of India’s Media & Entertainment revenue, the southern region has a rich legacy of leadership and pioneering entrepreneurship in the M&E sector spanning decades. Around 50% of the films produced every year in India are from the South. Driven by popularity of vernacular content, rapid digitization & connectivity, evolving ecosystem, global viewership and personalization, South India has continued to play a significant role in the evolution of M&E industry.
With this background, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Southern Region is organizing ‘Dakshin’ – the South India Media & Entertainment Summit themed ‘Culturally Rooted & Creatively Global’ on 09-10 April 2022 (Saturday & Sunday) between 0900 – 1800 hrs at the Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai.
Thiru M K Stalin, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has kindly agreed to be the Chief Guest and inaugurate the Summit on 9th April 2022.
The objective of this summit is to bring together relevant stakeholders in the M&E space to share and learn from best practices, celebrate achievements, gain knowledge, identify opportunities and network with peers for progression. Through keynote talks, panel discussions and fireside chats, this summit will lay the roadmap for the resurgence of the M&E sector.
