Shariq Patel, Chief Executive Officer of Zee Studios, has decided to move on from the company after serving for six years. His exit was followed by Rahul Johri’s (President – Business of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd.) and Punit Mishra’s (President – Content and International Markets, ZEEL) bidding adieu as well.
Prior to his stint with Zee, Patel served as the Founder of Trigno Media Pvt. Ltd between 2011 and 2018. During his period in Trigno Media, he produced films such as ‘Dharam Sankat Mein’, and ‘Azaad’ among others. Patel also handled marketing and Business strategy for about 15 films with the likes of ‘I am Kalam’, ‘Jal’, ‘Love Breakups Zindagi’ and more. Previous to this, he associated with Studio18 as Senior Vice President from 2008 to 2010.
Prior to his tenure with Studio18, Patel also worked for Indian Cricket League – Zee Group, Radio MidDay, Bharti Airtel, indya.com, and Exim Bank in lead roles.
However, Zee is in the process of trimming its work force and the exit at top level seems to be part of its restructuring exercise. Earlier Zee witnessed the exit of top executives like Rahul Johri and Punit Mishra.
In addition, the company has downsized its work force by 15% and the MD and CEO Punit Goenka himself took a voluntary prune of 20%.
