CASBAA has rebrands its flagship annual event as the Asia Video Summit and is moving the convention back to Hong Kong this 29th October to 1st November.
“As our industry is changing, so must we as the industry association,” said Louis Boswell, CEO of CASBAA. “2018 is a massive year of change for the association as we broaden our scope and mission to encompass the broader video industry and ecosystem in Asia. And change presents the opportunity to innovate and unleash new creativity. 2018 will be the year that CASBAA reinvents itself.”
Boswell said that the Asia Video Summit—previously known as the CASBAA Convention—aims to “become the defining conference on the state of the video industry in Asia: the opportunities and the challenges, the disruption and the consolidation, the success stories and the ability to embrace change. The industry has never gone through such a period of transformation as it is going through now, and that only looks set to accelerate.”
This year marks the return of the event to Hong Kong after two editions in Macau. In its new format, the event promises “more powerful panel discussions and fireside chats,” focused largely on new business models, diversification, OTT, video distribution, sports, advertising and 5G, “more distinguished speakers” and special CEO panels.
