Mumbai: Carnival Cinemas partners with Christie’s RGB pure laser cinema projectors featuring RealLaser illumination technology as its next-generation projection systems to power theater screens across the country. The projectors will be installed and maintained by TSR Films, Christie’s pre-eminent integration partner of its family of RGB pure laser cinema projectors in India.
Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. MP Ramaswamy, Chairman and Managing Director, TSR Films, Carnival Group Chairman and Founder Dr.ShrikantBhasi, Carnival Cinemas CEO Mohan Umrotkar, Christie Senior Director, Asia Sales, Cinema Dr. Don Shaw and Fredrick from Dolby Atmos spoke on how this association came into and gave the gathering a brief about it.
“This is something very mega and it is going to be one of the biggest in India’s cinematic experience and people are going to have a good experience with the laser projectors RGB laser projector by Christie with Dolby server IMS 3000, Carnival Cinema is going to have a good cinema experience in all terms of sound audio and video,” said Sri. Dr. MP Ramaswamy.
Talking more about Dolby and the experience with the Dolby Atmos presented with the RGB projectors to which Fredrick said, “We are so happy to be a part of this great journey in the future of the future which makes us really proud and happy to be. Audiences should not be left out on the perfect cinema right, but with Dolby Atmosyou also have the opportunity to get sound from everywhere.”
“We basically introduce this format of the future like six years ago, right now we have what 5000 screens in the world and which 700 are in India. We have 700 plus movies in India already only in India globally and this was actually very much driven by the creative community. So we were just taking their ideas and developing a technology, which has additional storytelling features to the cinema.”
Dr. Don Shaw on the sales perspective said, “What makes this rollout so unique is that it is the first of its kind declared as a full-scale RGB real laser nationwide across a major cinema circuit. RGB real laser projection offers a number of benefits for the audience and a number of real tangible image benefits and the first one of them being brightness. There are two other things that RGB laser projectors can do real laser projectors that you won’t see in a traditional projection technology; it’s more than just an image experience. These projectors are also the right choice for the environment.”
“I think that’s an important consideration for any business, now we have got a projector that instead of having to change a lamp every 600 to 2000 hours, it’s going to run on its own for 50,000 hours without having to change around and more importantly, no more potentially hazardous waste from having to dispose of a lamp with various mercury and other chemicals and substances inside it all that goes away with the choice of an RGB laser projector.”

We have become the first multiplex chain in India to be equipped with Christie RGB RealLaser cinema projectors,” said Carnival Cinemas CEO Mohan Umrotkar.
