Shemaroo Entertainment, a media and entertainment company, announced that the British Film Industry (BFI) has chosen to telecast ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ on the 2nd of July 2023 in the United Kingdom.
The cast of the film includes Amitabh Bachchan, Neetu Singh, Shabana Azmi, Late Vinod Khanna, Late Rishi Kapoor, Late Parveen Babi, Late Nirupa Roy, Late Pran, and Late Jeevan.
The film revolves around three brothers who, in their childhood, were separated and adopted by families of different faiths – Hinduism, Islam, and Christianity. As they grow up, they pursue different paths, becoming a police officer, a singer, and the owner of a pub, respectively. Even 46 years after its original release in 1977, ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ seamlessly blends humour, drama, and social commentary, leaving an indelible impact on audiences.
