Mumbai: Vikas Khanchandani, Group CEO at Republic Media Network has ended his 5-year stint with the company. A media professional & entrepreneur with over 20 years of multifunctional experience working across digital, television and ad/ media technology, Vikas joined Republic in Jan 2017, 5 months before the launch of Republic TV.
Vikas has been instrumental in building Republic into an extremely profitable news network and during his tenure as the Group CEO the business has expanded from a single channel to a network of 3 news brands across languages. Vikas’ unwavering belief that digital is the way forward has helped the organization carve out new avenues in its digital operations under Republic World. The network under his tenure adopted an unique distribution, marketing and monetisation strategy that made the independent channels profitable within its first year of operations.
Vikas started his media career at STAR India working directly with Raj Nayak on Sales and Marketing strategies for STAR Network of channels. He later partnered with Raj Nayak to set up NDTV Media Ltd, the commercial arm for NDTV and drove phenomenal growth for the company creating a benchmark within the news genre and leading the category. His association with Raj Nayak continued and resulted in the setting up of an independent Media Services business at AIDEM.
Vikas had a brief stint with Reliance Broadcast Network between 2016-2017 where he held the position of Chief Business Officer.
