As our country battles the second wave of Covid-19, and the healthcare system is facing extreme challenges. Practically all the States are devastated with patients lining up at hospitals. Experts say that the cases are increasing much faster in the second wave, from February when the second wave started, India confirmed 11,000 cases and within the next 50 days it added 22,000 new cases on average every day, but now the count has reached around 36,45,164 which is huge.
To fight this pandemic everyone is extending a helping hand to each other. To bridge the gap in the medical infrastructure there are few brands that have come forward and have taken the initiative to help the country through this tough time.
Here are few Brands that contributed to fighting against Covid-19
Google:
Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet shared a tweet on his Twitter account, saying Google & Googlers are providing 135 Crore funding. The fund will be divided into two parts the first one will be given to those families who have lost everything in the pandemic, and the second part of the funding will go to UNICEF which will help in providing medical supplies like Oxygen, Testing kits, etc.
Amway:
Amway, one of the leading FMCG direct selling companies, pledges to stand in solidarity with India. In response to the impact of the pandemic’s second wave, which has hit the country at large, Amway is donating US $1 million (approx. INR 7.50 crores) to support the COVID relief efforts. The donation amount will be used to facilitate COVID-19 resources such as ventilators, oxygen concentrators among others, to accelerate the COVID 19 relief work.
Furthermore, to safeguard and support its employees, Amway India has taken critical measures, including mass vaccination drive, access to medical services, and absorption of medical expenses, and providing centre’s for affected employee(s) recovery, among others.
Microsoft:
Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft shared his thoughts toward Indians on his Twitter account. He said that they will support the country by purchasing Critical oxygen concentration devices.
CRED:
The Cred app has also come forward and collaborated with Milaap. For every 10,000 CRED coins the members will redeem, the company will distribute 1000 liters of Oxygen.
Paytm:
Paytmsucceeded in raising 2 Crore and now they are aiming for 10 Crore of funding. The funding was from donations by Paytm users and the Company donated the same amount. For example, if someone donated 2000 on Paytm for Covid-19 then Paytm will add 2000 too, for the cause.
HealthCube:
HealthCube, a point-of-care technology-enabled diagnostics service provider, will now enable the distribution of medical oxygen cylinders and concentrators under an initiative called #OxygenForIndia. The company is the distribution partner in this initiative started by a group of individuals and organizations from a variety of backgrounds to raise funds for the cause. Currently operating out of Delhi, it will be expanded across Kolkata, Ranchi, Guwahati, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru in the days to come.
Through #OxygenForIndia, the aim is to raise $1,200,000 for providing 3,500 cylinders and 700 concentrators to those who need it the most. Within seven days after it was initiated, #OxygenForIndia has received $500,000 in contributions. Around 50 medical oxygen cylinders were delivered to patients in Delhi and 50 oxygen cylinders are on their way.
Zomato:
The online food delivery app Zomato has also come forward and started with their campaign of Help Save My India. Zomato aims to raise 50 Crore to supply Oxygen to every hospital.
Ketto:
#InThisTogether with Ketto is a campaign set up by Virat Kohli and Anushka sharma to raise funds for covid-19. Recently Virat and Anushka posted a video on their Instagram account talking about the situation of covid-19 and we all should come together and help each other by donating funds.
Sula Vineyards: Sula Vineyards has contributed INR 1 crore in the fight against Covid-19. It includes 30 lakhs to the PM National Relief Fund (PM Cares), 30 lakhs to the Maharashtra CM Relief Fund and 10 lakhs to the Karnataka CM Relief Fund and will also be allocating 30 lakhs to local Nashik relief efforts and CSR activities over the next month.
