Bengaluru: ‘Bigg Boss Kannada 4’, the premiere reality show on Colors Kannada, will move to a new destination. As the show nears its finale, the final two weeks will be aired on Viacom18’s newly launched, second Kannada GEC, Colors Super aka SUPER, starting Monday, January 16 at 9 PM. The Grand Finale will now be held on 29th January.
Commenting on the encouraging growth of both the channels, Ravish Kumar, Senior EVP – Regional Channels said, “Bigg Boss has grown to become much more than a show, it is now a television phenomenon. The show has enjoyed stupendous adulation from the viewers and the advertisers alike, making its contestants household names. The popularity of the series compelled us to extend it for two more weeks, and since we have a pre-determined launch calendar for Colors Kannada, it was a conscious call to shift the show to SUPER, our sister channel from the same family. And as we reach the culmination of this edition of Bigg Boss, we are already prepping up for two big ticket launches on Colors Kannada, that is, RadhaRamana and Padmavati. With so much happening, Colors Kannada and SUPER are surely going to be the one stop entertainment destination for all Kannada viewers.”
Living up to the excitement, Bigg Boss Kannada never failed to surprise the viewers as well as the housemates with its unexpected twists and turns. Hosted by the very popular, KicchaSudeep, the show lived up to its expectation of being ‘unpredictable’ from Day One. With wildcard entries, bewildering tasks and exciting guests, Bigg Boss Kannada has become a topic of dinner table conversations. With the finish line in sight, the show has entered its final phase, with an extension of two more glorious and entertaining weeks that will now conclude on January 29.
Speaking about this strategic development, Parameshwara Gundkal, Business Head of Colors Kannada & Super and Director of Bigg Boss Kannada said, “SUPER, which was launched five months ago, has already won the hearts of the Kannada television viewers with its qualitative programs and brand new movies. The viewership of the channel has doubled in the last three months. And the reach has also shown considerable increase. We have been already airing the unseen footage of Bigg Boss as ‘Bigg Boss Nightshift’ on SUPER since the start of the season. Now with the original programming of such a hit show lined-up to be aired on SUPER, we are certain that the channel will take a leap towards the next level.”
The daring move to shift Bigg Boss Kannada 4 to sister channel SUPER during its high-voltage Grand Finale sequence is seems to be a strategic move by the channel authorities to boost up the sampling size of the newly launched sister channel thus hoping to build the fortune of the channel with the escalation in viewership generated by the Grand finale of the reality show.
