Mumbai: Big FM has introduced a new show called ‘Uncensored with MJ Anirudh’. The show aims at addressing topics that are considered a taboo in our society. People usually abstain from sharing their views on subjects such as homosexuality, rape, casting couch, one-night-stands amongst many others. MJ Anirudhurges people to talk about these topics fearlessly. With this offering, Big FM becomes the first ever radio network to provide a platform to debate on taboo topics in the broadcast space. Airing Monday-Friday between 10 pm – 12 amin Mumbai,‘Uncensored with MJ Anirudh’ will soon be heard across other cities of the radio network.
A live poll on social media introduces the ‘Topic of the Day’in the afternoon, a day prior to when the radio programme airs. This activity further leads to insightful conversations,where in listeners become a part of a healthy debate and voice their opinions. With this unconventional format, MJ Anirudh sets the stage for listeners to come forward and discuss sensitive issues, without the fear of being judged. A celebrity segment called, ‘ApkeSitareKyaKehteHain’ witnesses prominent Bollywood personalities speak about topics that they are not usually vocal about.
Commenting on the new show, Big FM’s spokesperson says, “How often do we hear people actually talk about kids receiving sex education, pornography,live-in relationships and other important topics, on such a mass scale. We at 92.7 BIG FM believe in empowering our listeners and have decided to walk the talk with uncensored. We have always experimented with content that is captivating, engaging and original. Uncensored has been ideated on the same lines, with listener participation being at the core of the format. The show will provide a platform for listeners to debate on topics that are usually considered inappropriate, but are important to be spoken about in the society. Through this new offering we aim to reach a larger set of audience, which will further prove to be beneficial for our advertisers, given the new concept of the show.”
Keeping in mind the entertainment quotient, the programme will also have romantic tracks from the 70s – 90s to keep listeners engaged.
