BIG FM, a radio network in India, has launched a new show titled “BIG PRIDEntity” to promote acceptance and inclusivity. The show, airing from 17th July for a month, aims to normalise gender diversity and provide a platform for conversations and engagement.
Hosted by RJ Rani and other BIG RJs, the show will feature interviews with LGBTQIA+ community members, brand officials, and celebrities who advocate inclusivity. It will explore coming-out stories, moments of gender-related banter, and positive experiences from personal journeys.
To encourage participation, individuals are invited to share their own BIG PRIDEntity reels on social media using the hashtag #BIGPridentity. The show will also create an Instagram page showcasing inspiring stories and organise on-ground mall activations, including a Wall of Pride. By amplifying voices and promoting acceptance, BIG PRIDEntity aims to create a transformative shift in societal perceptions and celebrate true identities.
Speaking about the show, Sunil Kumaran, COO, BIG FM, said, “At BIG FM, we believe in the power of storytelling as a catalyst for positive change and acceptance. BIG PRIDEntity provides a platform to individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community to share their transformative stories, to be heard and to inspire others on their journey of self-discovery. By normalising identities and fostering inclusivity, we aim to create an environment where every individual feels valued and validated. The show endeavours to be a safe space for authentic expression, enabling our listeners to find solace, connect with diverse experiences, and be inspired by the resilience and strength of others.”
