Mumbai: BBDO India and Ariel’s Sons #ShareTheLoad has made it to the shortlist at the Inaugural Gerety Awards 2019 in the Works for Good Cut and Communication Cut categories.
Named for Frances Gerety, the copywriter who coined the slogan “A diamond is forever,” the Gerety Awards recognises global talent, mentors and allies within advertising – the people who will define and refine the standard to which advertising should be held.
It was created with a purpose of spotlighting talent, and supporting initiatives that champion diversity in the creative industries.
Ariel has been leading the conversation on gender equality at home and with each year, digs deeper into the issue. This year’s movement highlights the disparity in how sons and daughters are raised in the country. And how that leads to a staggering number of women having to give up on their career ambitions to stay back at home and singlehandedly take care of housework. Ariel’s Sons #ShareTheLoad campaign shed light on this harsh reality and sparked conversations all over the globe about bringing up sons and daughters as equals in every household.
The inaugural Gerety Awards shortlist has been chosen by the world’s first all-female power jury. The executive judging session took place in New York, Paris, Stockholm, Sao Paulo, Mumbai, Hamburg, Beirut, Sydney, Amsterdam and London with some of the world’s most esteemed creatives.
The winners will be chosen by the Grand jury and announced at the end of July.
