BBC has outlined plans to accelerate its digital offering and increase impact with audiences for its Indian language services.
The platform’s statement read, “This is part of a wider proposal to create a modern, digital-led and streamlined BBC that drives the most value from its current funding and delivers more for audiences.”
BBC World Service Director Liliane Landor says, “There is a compelling case for expanding our digital services across the World Service in order to better serve and connect with our audiences. The way audiences are accessing news and content is changing and the challenge of reaching and engaging people around the world with quality, trusted journalism is growing.”
“We remain totally committed to our audiences in India. With the ever increasing potential for digital growth in India, we want to be fully prepared to meet this opportunity and better serve all those millions of people who come to the BBC for trusted news,” she added.
