Mumbai: According to BARC viewership data for week 21, the weekly impressions ofEnglish and Hindi news channels witnessed substantial growth, comparing to week 20, due to the live coverage of 2019 general election and the climax of counting day.

Urban + Rural HSM:
Market leader AajTak has more than doubled its weekly impressions to 335.8 million compared to 141.9 million impressions in week 20. ABP News has move up in the order to the second place from the fourth spot with its weekly impressions spiking to 243.6 million as against 100 million impressions in week 20.
India TV dropped down to No. 3 with 193 million impresions while Republic Bharat at No. 4 clocked 188 million impressions and News18 India stood at No. 5 with 186 million impressions.
Urban HSM:
AajTak’s impressions have increased to 175 million impressions in week 21, from 75 million in the previous week. ABP News featured at the second position with 123.4 million impressions. India TV dropped to the third with 119.6 million impressions;News18 India at fourth spot witnessed 111.9 million imps, while Republic Bharat at fifth positions clocked 102.9 million imps.
Rural HSM:
In Rural HSM market AajTak’s impressions have swelled to 160.4 million from 66 million in week 20. ABP News seized the second position in the rural market with 120.2 million impressions. Republic Bharat at third position secured 85.7 million impressions, while News18 India at fourth spot scored 74.5 million and India TV at fifth spot garnered 74.3 million impressions.
English news channels:
English news channels also witnessed almost 100% growth in their weekly impressions. Republic TV’s weekly impressions have jumped to 1.4 million in week 21 from 0.6 million.
Times Now grabbbed the second spot with 1.05 million impressions. DD India’s impressions jumped to 0.8 million followed by India Today Television at 0.8 million and CNN-News18 at 0.7 million impressions.
