As per BARC Ratings of week 29 for the period from 18th July to 24th July, Star Plus posted a gain of 28 million viewership and SAB TV climbed to no. 5 position with 199 million viewership.
According to BARC Ratings of week 29, for HSM, 1L+ Individuals, Star Plus’ lead margin over Colors increased to 89 million. Zee TV retained its position unchanged at No. 3, while Life OK and Sony stayed at No. 4 and 5 respectively.
Star Plus continues at the top spot, garnering gross rating of 404 million, as opposed to 380 million last week (Week 28).
Colors, which had seen a steep fall in its viewership last week (315 million), garnered a gross rating of 383 million in Week 29, an increase in viewership by 50 points.
Zee TV regained the third spot with a gross rating of 262 million (last week – 255 million).
Life OK was placed fourth with a gross rating of 238 million (last week – 233 million).
Sab TV climbed up to the fifth spot with a gross rating of 199 million. This stupendous rise could be largely attributed to its premiere show, ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’, which completed seven years.
However, despite completing seven years, ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ didn’t quite make it to the top five shows of the week.
Star Plus’ ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’ regained the top spot with an average viewership of 6.4 million. Zee TV’s ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, that was No.1 last week, slid to the second spot with average viewership of 5.5 million.
Star Plus’ ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ entered the top five, taking the third spot with average viewership of 5.3 million.
News Channel Ratings:
BARC ratings of week 29 had witnessed a change in pecking order with News X jumping ahead India Today TV and CNN-IBN to take the second spot. However, Times Now stayed at the top with a staggering 568 TVTs (last week 374 TVTs), while News X rose to second spot with 255 TVTs. India Today TV garnered a gross rating of 215 TVTs.
Among Hindi News channels AajTak regained the top spot with 39,591 TVT, while India TV stood second with 38,672 TVT. ABP News gained in viewership from last week but stayed third with 30,053 TVT.
Among English Business News channels CNBC-TV18 ruling the roost with 509 TVTS, followed by ET Now (297 TVT). NDTV Profit and NDTV Prime was at a distant third with just 40 TVTs.
In Hindi Business news segment, CNBC Awaaz remained unchallenged at the top spot with 509 TVTs. Its only competitor, Zee Business, was second with 349 TVTs
