As per BARC Ratings of week 26 for the period from 27th June to 3rd July, Zee TV posted gain of 53 million viewership and Colors gained 17 million viewership during the week 26, while Star Plus and Life OK witnessed a dropping trend.
According to BARC Ratings of week 26, for HSM, 1L+ Individuals, Star Plus’ lead margin over Colors reduced to 31 million. Zee TV strengthened its position at No. 3 with maximum growth this week while Life OK and Sony stayed at No. 4 and 5 respectively despite losing viewership.
With a decline of 17 million viewership, Star Plus’ viewership in Week 26 narrowed its lead margin over Colors to 31 million. the channel recorded gross viewership of 389 million against 406 million in week 25.
While Star Plus lost Colors managed to gain 17 million to its gross ratings. Colors recorded a gross rating of 358 million against 341 million in week 25.
Zee TV continued with its consistent growth in its viewership. The channel’s gross rating has grown by over 53 million since the launch of individual ratings by BARC in Week 21. Zee TV’s gross ratings stood at 285 million in Week 26 (last week 255 million).
Life OK too witnessed decline in its viewership in week 26 and recorded a gross rating of 233 million against 246 million in week 25.
Sony Entertainment Television held No. 5 position with a gross rating of 204 million in week 26 against 236 million in week 25.
News Channel Ratings:
According BARC Ratings of week 26 for English News Channels (All India, NCCS AB, Male 22+ Individuals, C&S 1L+), The segment leader Times Now witnessed a surge in week 26 that saw its viewership increase by 57 TVTs and posted a gross rating of 502 TVTs in week 26 against 445 TVTs in week 25. India Today TV lost heavily in week 26 and delivered 178 TVTs in week 26 against 315 TVTs in week 25. CNN IBN bounced back to no.4 spot with 178 TVTs pushing NDTV 24×7 to 4th position.
Among Hindi news genre (HSM, NCCS All Individuals, C&S 1L+) the top three contenders witnessed a close gaps with very little differences in rating TVT. Aaj Tak witnessed a drop in gross ratings with 28409 TVTs in week 26 against 31566 TVTs in week 25. India TV at No. 2 gained marginally to 27668 TVTs in week 26 against 26042 TVTs in week 25. ABP News at no. 3 marginally increased to 26825 TVTs in week 26 against 25474 in week 25.
In English Business News channels genre (All India, NCCS AB, Male 22+ Individuals, C&S 1L+), CNBC TV18 increased to 213 TVTs in week 26 against 165 TVTs in week 25. followed by ET Now with 196 TVTs in week 26 against 130 TVTs in week 25 and NDTV Profit and NDTV Prime scored 57 TVTs in week 26 against 59 TVTs in week 25.
In Hindi Business News genre (6 mega cities, NCCS AB, Male 22+ Individuals, C&S 1L+), CNBC Awaaz dropped to 412 TVTs in week 26 against 700 TVTs in week 25, followed a distant no. 2 Zee Business that dropped to 198 TVTs in week 26 against 259 TVTs in week 25.
