The BARC Ratings of week 23 shows a declining trend by all major Hindi GECs like Star Plus, Colors and SAB, while Zee TV and Life OK witnessed a marginal growth.
According to BARC Ratings of week 23 for the period from June 6th to 12th, Star Plus, the market leader among Hindi GECs lost 30 million TVTs during week 23 and recorded a gross viewership of 366 million against week 396 million. The Channel had lost 10 million TVTs in the last week also.
Colors at no. 2 also suffered a sharp decline this week as the channel lost 40 million TVTs from its last week’s gross ratings. With the maximum loss in viewership this week, the channel recorded a gross rating of 328 million against 368 million in week 22.
At no. 3 Zee TV saw a slight improvement in gross ratings as the channel recorded a gross rating of 237 million against 233 million in week 22.
Life OK stood at no. 4 also improved marginally in this week and recorded a gross rating of 232 million against 230 million in week 22.
At No. 4 SAB TV also suffered a major drop in ratings as the channel lost 17 million to its gross ratings and slipped to a gross rating of 186 million against 203 million during the week 22.
New Channels Ratings :
According BARC Ratings of week 23 for English News Channels (All India, NCCS AB, Male 22+ Individuals, C&S 1L+), Times Now bounced back to the top spot with a gross rating of 490 TVTs. India Today TV got pushed to second spot with 151 TVTs followed by NDTV 24×7 at no. 3 with 129 TVTs.
Among Hindi news genre (HSM, NCCS All Individuals, C&S 1L+) the top three contenders witnessed a close gaps with very little differences in rating TVT. Aaj Tak retained the top slot with 28,366 TVTs, India TV followed closely at No. 2 with 27,514 TVTs. ABP News came third with 27,074 TVTs.
In English Business News channels genre (All India, NCCS AB, Male 22+ Individuals, C&S 1L+), CNBC TV18 was sitting at the top with 182 TVTs followed by ET Now with 153 TVTs and NDTV Profit and NDTV Prime with 22 TVTs.
In Hindi Business News genre (6 mega cities, NCCS AB, Male 22+ Individuals, C&S 1L+), with 984 TVTs, CNBC Awaaz led the segment followed with a big margin over Zee Business that recorded 451 TVTs.
