According to BARC Ratings of week 20 , Star Plus emerged as the largest gainers followed by SAB TV while Colors, Life OK and Zee TV witnessed decline. However, there was no change in the pecking order.
According to the select data of BARC Ratings of week 20 for period from 16th May to 22nd May22 for HSM, 1L+ HHs, Star Plus strengthened its leadership. Colors held the No. 2 position even though it lost maximum viewership this week. Life OK and Zee TV also witnessed decline in their viewership while the No. 5 GEC, SAB TV, continued to grow for the second consecutive week.
Star Plus added maximum viewership and recorded a gross rating of 171 million against 16e million in week 19.
Colors at no. 2 registered a decline in viewership and dropped to 133 million of gross ratings this week against last week ratings of 145 milion.
At no. 3 Life OK too witnessed a significant drop in viewership, recording a gross rating of 114 million against 122 million in week 19.
Zee TV at no. 4 also dropped further this week slipping below the 100-million mark. The channel had a gross rating of 98 million this week against 100 million last week.
SAB TV continued to grow for the second week in a row. The channel recorded a gross rating of 79 million this week against 74 million in the last week.
As per the BARC Ratings of week 20 in the news broadcasting space, Aaj Tak continued its numero uno position with 13121, down from 14155 (000’s sum). While the last week saw close battle for the second spot between ABP News and India TV with the former securing the second spot, week 20 had a different story to say.
India TV secured the second position with 11439, down from 12589 (000’s sum), whereas ABP News at number three scored 10616, down from 12981 (000’s sum).
Times Now continued its dominance in the English News broadcasting space with 373, down from 378 (000’s sum) followed by NDTV 24/7 at 211, down from 236 (000’s sum). Headlines Today was placed third at 191, down from 236 (000’s sum).
