Trivandrum : Asianet has harvested a threefold jump in its 10 PM time band as the new fiction show “Karutha Muthu”, which was launched on 20th October as a replacement for the Mythological show “Kailasha Nadhan” has received a rousing response from the Malayalam audience. Despite criticism from a section of the people for scripting a story-line based on the skin color of a girl, the unique concept of “Karutha Muthu” has hooked the viewers from the day one.
Karutha Muthu on its first week of airing has scored 11.9 TVR in Female 15+ ABC and 9.4 in the MF4+, with an upward surging trend. On Saturday 25th October the program has peaked with 13.44 and 10.54 TVRs in Female and Male TG respectively.
The previous show at 10PM “Kaliasha Nadhan” has delivered an average of 4 TVR in both Female and Male TG in week 43 and after the show being shifted to 10:30PM time slot, it has still managed to deliver the same 4 TVR on an average in the new time slot as per the ratings of week 44.
Asianet has shifted “Haatim Veergatha” from 10:30 PM to 6:00 PM time slot after the wind-up of the Malayalam dubbed version of the Star India’s mega budget mythological show “Mahabharatham”
Sources from the channel confirmed that the management and programming team were very happy about the opening number of “Karutha Muthu” and sustaining numbers of “Kailasha Nadhan” at the new time slot at 10:30PM.
Karuthamuthu story is based on the character of Karthika, a black girl who lives with her step father and her own mother, the innocent girl is ignored by everyone in her family and her step sister Kanya is good looking and fair, who was born for her own mother and step father.
Kanya also has dislike towards sister Karthika for various reasons. But, the destiny drives them both to get married to two brothers of Kaipamangathu family. The story is all about situation that Karthika needs to face with her sister Kanya and other before and after her marriage.
Karutha Muthu is Directed by Praveen Kadakkavoor and Story, Screenplay and dialogs were penned by Pradeep Panicker and Produced by Bros Creations.
Karutha Muthu was also aired in Asianet Middel East at 6:30 PM.
With no sign of competition from other Malayalam GEC’s in the late night band, the ratings of “Karutha Muthu” is expected to grow further in the coming weeks.
