Mumbai: In a collaborative effort to promote safe celebrations this New Year’s Eve, Approach Bollywood, India’s premier Bollywood and entertainment news platform, and Go Spiritual, a leading spiritual organization, have unveiled a unique campaign against drunk driving. The initiative, aptly titled “Aaj Mere Paas Gadi Hai,” uses Bollywood’s iconic dialogues to deliver a powerful message about responsible behavior during the festive season.
The campaign, which will run across social media platforms until January 1, 2025, reinterprets classic Bollywood lines to resonate with audiences. Inspired by the famous dialogue from Deewar, “Aaj mere paas gaadi hai, bangla hai, bank balance hai,” the campaign humorously flips it to say, “Even then, I don’t drink and drive.”
Another noteworthy adaptation incorporates the legendary line from Kanoon: “Kanoon ke haath bahut lambe hote hain.” This serves as a stark reminder of the legal repercussions of drunk driving, urging citizens to respect the law. Adding further Bollywood flair, the campaign borrows Veeru’s advice to Basanti in Sholay: “Don’t dance in front of these dogs,” repurposed to advocate, “Don’t drink, drive, or create a scene.”
Sonu Tyagi, the visionary founder of Approach Entertainment and Go Spiritual, emphasized the campaign’s purpose, “New Year’s Eve is a time of joy and celebration, but it is also one of the most dangerous nights on the road due to intoxicated driving. Through this campaign, we aim to save lives by raising awareness and promoting responsible behavior. Bollywood has an unparalleled ability to connect with people, and by blending its charm with a crucial social message, we hope to make a lasting impact.”
Approach Bollywood, part of the Approach Entertainment Group, has a legacy of leveraging its platform for social change. Known for its expansive coverage of Bollywood and entertainment, the group is also set to produce its first Hindi feature film in 2025 under the direction of Sonu Tyagi. The organization recently launched a smartphone app offering breaking entertainment news, celebrity updates, and insights into Bollywood, OTT, and music industries.
Go Spiritual, the campaign’s partner, has been instrumental in promoting mindfulness, wellness, and philanthropy. Through initiatives like spiritual tourism, media campaigns, and social awareness programs, the organization seeks to foster a harmonious society. Their collaboration with Approach Bollywood underscores their commitment to meaningful societal transformation.
As the campaign reminds everyone to avoid drunk driving, it highlights a simple yet crucial message: celebrations should be joyous, not marred by preventable tragedies. By combining Bollywood’s charm with a life-saving cause, “Aaj Mere Paas Gadi Hai” aims to inspire a cultural shift toward safer festivities.
With both organizations championing responsible celebrations, they encourage everyone to make safer choices, ensuring that the New Year begins with safety, joy, and responsibility.
