Amaravati: AP Fiber Grid project is set for the launched on 27th December 2017. The ambitious project of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will provides triple play services – television (350+ channels), telephone (rental free) and internet (15 Mbps and 100 Mbps) to every household and enterprises at a nominal price.
President Ram NathKovind will launch the AP FiberGrid in a mega ceremony organized tomorrow. Andhra Pradesh State government created AP FiberNet Limited (APSFL) as the nodal agency for undertaking the works of AP Fiber Grid.
Around 1.3 crore households, 50,000 schools, 10,000 government offices, 5,000 public health centres will be connected under the project. It has become the first Telco in the State government sector with the largest greenfield optical fiber network infrastructure and so far 1,10,367 households and 3,246 enterprise connections have been completed across 13 districts of AP.
The services that will be offered under fiber grid are triple play services, value added services such as video conferencing, E-commerce, movies and content on demand and a State-wide network.
The Basic plan offered by AP Fiber Grid costs monthly rental of Rs 149 which comes with 250+ channels and 5GB data. The Standard plan comes with 250+ channels and 25 GB data while the Premium plan comes with 250+ channels and 50 GB data with 15 Mbps speed being assured to all Residential plans and 100 Mbps for private Institutions and Enterprises.
This component of the project would involve laying aerial optical fiber across the State so that the State, Districts, Mandals and Villages. In addition, last mile connectivity will be made available through a network of Local Cable Operators that have the capability to provide bandwidth.
