Actor Anita Hassanandani has joined hands with Vanity Wagon – India’s first only Clean Beauty Market, as part of a seed round of $200k, the start-up said on January 2021.
Founded by Naina Ruhail, Prateek Ruhail, and Sahil Shrestha in September 2018, the start-up claims to have sold over 1,20,000 products since its launch and has grown 5x since 2019.
Vanity Wagon is building a cohesive market in the clean beauty industry, that is a one-stop destination for Clean Beauty enthusiasts. At present, their operations extend to over 50,000 pin codes across India with 85 brands, and Vanity Wagon now plans to onboard 70 more brands, 50,000 new users by 2021.
“Being a believer in Clean Beauty, I realized that now it’s time for India to have its own clean beauty destination. When I spoke with the founders of Vanity Wagon, I realized how good a team they are to implement this and immediately knew this is going to be big. Further embarking on my journey as a mother I wish to use only safe and certified products for my baby and shopping these become much easier with Vanity Wagon” said Anita.
The clean beauty industry has been growing steadily at over 50% year on year and with the advent of a host of new brands, space is looking to jump the growth even further. With a large amount of investments flowing in clean beauty brands, such as mama earth, moms co, Arata, the future of Clean Beauty in India definitely looks bright.
Anita has been an active investor in start-ups, with bets on companies such as Natures Tattva and TheBagTalk.
