Mumbai:L’Oréal India has announced the elevation of Aniket Basu as its new Chief Digital Officer (CDO). Prior to this role, Basu served as the Digital Media Lead for the South Asia Pacific, Middle East, and North Africa (SAPMENA) region at L’Oréal since April 2022.
Sharing the news on LinkedIn, Basu expressed his excitement about his new role, stating, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Chief Digital Officer (CDO) at L’Oréal! India is a market of immense dynamism, where digital innovation and consumer engagement are evolving at an extraordinary pace. The opportunities to drive impact, scale transformation, and shape the future of growth are limitless. I’m excited to start this new chapter & be back home!”
He also extended his gratitude to his mentors, colleagues, and teams for their support throughout his journey. Basu gave special mention to Lex Bradshaw-Zanger, Cheryl Lee, Atul Gaur, Raagjeet Garg, and Saloni Shah Javeri for their role in making this transition possible.
Before joining L’Oréal, Basu held key roles in several prominent organizations. He was Senior Director, Technology & E-Commerce at Essence (now EssenceMediacom) until April 2022. Additionally, he contributed to IAB Southeast Asia and India as a member of the Commerce Council. During his seven-year tenure at Wavemaker, Basu held multiple roles across India, the Philippines, and Singapore in digital strategy and media.
With over 12 years of experience in digital marketing, Basu has developed expertise in strategy and planning, data and analytics, AdTech deployment, and search and data strategy (1PD). He is also known for leading transformation projects, managing cross-functional teams, and collaborating with senior leadership to drive results.
In his most recent role, Basu was responsible for driving digital media growth across 15 markets in the SAPMENA region for L’Oréal, the world’s leading beauty brand. His focus was on building brands, expanding e-commerce growth, and fostering collaboration with regional and business stakeholders to deliver effective results.
As he steps into his new role as Chief Digital Officer, Basu aims to leverage his extensive experience to drive innovation and digital growth in the vibrant Indian market.
