Mumbai: Superstar Amitabh Bachchan has sent a legal notice to the pan masala brand, Kamla Pasand for continuing to air Television commercial featuring him, even after the actor terminated the contract.
The actor on October 11th announced his withdrawal from the ad campaign of Kamla Pasand after the national anti-tobacco organisation requested him to desist from endorsing pan masala brand as it might help prevent youngsters from getting addicted to tobacco.
Bachchan was also trolled on social media for endorsing the pan masala brand, he defended himself by saying that it is part and parcel of the entertainment business that offers employment opportunities to many.
Later a statement from the superstar’s office stated that Bachchan wasn’t aware that the commercial falls under surrogate advertising. Bachchan has terminated the contract with the brand, has written to them his termination and returned the money received for the promotion.
