Tel Aviv : Amazon Prime Video will be the exclusive premium subscription streaming home for The A Word in the U.S., following a pact with Keshet International (KI).
Prime members in the U.S. will be able to watch the drama, which is a co-production between Fifty Fathoms Productions and Keshet UK, via the Amazon Video app on TVs, connected devices such as Fire TV and mobile devices or online. Based on the Israeli series Yellow Peppers, The A Word is set for a second season on BBC One in the U.K. and SundanceTV in the U.S.
Keren Shahar, COO of KI and president of distribution, said, “We are delighted that The A Word has been so well-received. The fact that Amazon has acquired SVOD rights to both seasons of the series is a testament to its quality, appeal and performance to date—it seems we’re not the only ones who can’t wait to see the second season unfold.”
