Mumbai: Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), a global professional services firm, has appointed Jugnu Sakuja and Shubhra Goel as Managing Directors in India. These strategic hires are part of A&M’s broader efforts to strengthen its leadership team and expand its footprint in India, supporting the firm’s ambitious goal to achieve 5x growth over the next five years.
The appointments are set to significantly enhance A&M’s ability to deliver impactful solutions to clients across various sectors, including automotive, financial services, infrastructure, and retail.
Jugnu Sakuja brings over 18 years of consulting experience, with a proven track record in driving large-scale business transformation programs. Specializing in margin expansion, growth strategy, and cost optimization, Mr. Sakuja has worked with a diverse range of clients, from multi-billion-dollar enterprises to medium-sized promoter-run companies. His experience spans industries such as automobile manufacturing, infrastructure, and retail.
Prior to joining A&M, Sakuja spent seven years at Accenture Strategy, where he led several transformational initiatives, including a large-scale cost optimization program for one of India’s largest passenger vehicle manufacturers and helped a leading two-wheeler company optimize its logistics and packaging operations. Sakuja is an alumnus of IIM Calcutta.
Shubhra Goel, with over 20 years of experience in financial services and more than 15 years in consulting, joins A&M with expertise in analytics-driven sales improvement, digital strategy, and complex program management. She has extensive knowledge of the insurance, banking, and capital markets sectors.
Goel previously served as the Consulting Lead for Financial Services for India at Accenture Strategy, where she worked on digital transformation projects for key financial institutions. Based in Mumbai, she will focus on expanding A&M India’s capabilities to help financial services clients navigate digital transformation, particularly in areas like digital banking, fintech, and insurtech. Goel holds an MBA in Finance and Strategy from the Indian School of Business.
