Gurugram: Air India, a global airline, has set a new benchmark in passenger experience by becoming the first Indian airline to offer in-flight Wi-Fi internet connectivity on domestic flights. Starting today, travellers aboard the airline’s Airbus A350, Boeing 787-9, and select Airbus A321neo aircraft can enjoy seamless connectivity during their journey.
This pioneering service allows passengers to browse the internet, stay active on social media, catch up on work, or stay in touch with loved ones while flying. As an added benefit, Wi-Fi services will be offered complimentary for an introductory period.
Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer at Air India, remarked: “Connectivity is now an integral part of modern travel. For some, it is about the convenience and comfort of real-time sharing, while for others, it is about greater productivity and efficiency. Whatever be one’s purpose, we are confident that our guests will appreciate having the option of connecting to the web and enjoy the new Air India experience on board these aircraft.”
The in-flight Wi-Fi service is compatible with a wide range of devices, including laptops, tablets, and smartphones running iOS or Android operating systems. Passengers can also connect multiple devices simultaneously once the aircraft reaches cruising altitude above 10,000 feet.*
Easy Steps to Access Air India’s In-Flight Wi-Fi:
- Enable Wi-Fi and navigate to Wi-Fi settings.

The service has already been tested successfully on international routes, including flights to New York, London, Paris, and Singapore, as part of an ongoing pilot program. As with domestic services, Wi-Fi on international routes is also available on a complimentary basis during the introductory period. Air India plans to extend this offering across more aircraft in its fleet in the coming months.
This initiative marks a significant step forward for Air India as it continues to elevate its in-flight experience, catering to both leisure and business travellers who value staying connected while in the air.
Note: Wi-Fi connectivity depends on factors like satellite coverage, bandwidth usage, route specifics, and government regulations.
