Mumbai: A+E Global Media Group has announced a partnership with Arré Studio to bring the globally successful survival competition format Alone to India for the first time. The groundbreaking show, which challenges contestants to survive in the wilderness alone, will be adapted for Indian audiences under this exciting collaboration. The announcement was made by Namit Sharma, CEO of Arré Studio, and Amreet Chahal, Content Sales Director for A+E Media Group, Asia-Pacific.
Alone, which The New Yorker has described as “the best reality show ever made,” features contestants who are dropped into remote wilderness locations, where they must survive entirely on their own. With no camera crew, each contestant is responsible for filming their own survival journey as they hunt for food, secure water, build shelter, and cope with the unforgiving elements.
“We are thrilled to partner with A+E to bring Alone to India,” said Namit Sharma, CEO of Arré Studio. “Our audience has a deep affinity for immersive and high-stakes reality shows, and Alone is the epitome of this genre. This partnership further strengthens Arré’s commitment to delivering world-class entertainment, with both scripted and unscripted formats, to our clients and viewers.”
Amreet Chahal, Content Sales Director for A+E Media Group, Asia-Pacific, added, “We are excited to collaborate with Arré Studio to introduce Alone to the Indian market. The show has captivated global audiences with its intense psychological and physical challenges set against breathtaking, unspoiled wilderness. India is a prime market for this exceptional format, and we can’t wait to see how Indian viewers connect with the extraordinary human spirit showcased in this series.”
Originally premiering on A+E’s The History Channel in the U.S. in 2015, Alone has become a global phenomenon, with 11 seasons airing to date and a 12th season currently in production. The format has been successfully adapted in multiple countries, including Denmark, Australia, and several European territories, with a third season of Alone set to premiere in Australia in 2025.
This Indian adaptation of Alone will mark the first time the series is produced for an Asian audience. As the show continues to garner international acclaim, this collaboration between A+E Global Media Group and Arré Studio promises to bring an exciting new chapter to Alone’s global legacy.
