Trivandrum: The vibrant advertising and media industry in Kerala’s capital city took a significant step forward with the formation of the Advertising Club Trivandrum (ACT). The new initiative, aimed at nurturing creativity, collaboration, and professional growth, serves as an exclusive platform for advertising and media professionals to connect, share knowledge, and elevate industry standards in the region.
The club was officially formed on December 2, 2024, with the active participation of over 100 professionals from across various advertising and media sectors. The first general body meeting was a key event in the formation process, where the club’s office bearers were elected. Laj Salam, CEO of PlainSpeak, was elected as the President, while Vishnu Vijay from Mathrubhumi was appointed as Secretary. Other key office bearers include Manikandan R. K. (Mangalam Daily) as Treasurer, B. Sunil (Kairali TV) as Vice President, and Thomas George (Stark Communications) as Joint Secretary.
Speaking at the event, Laj Salam, President of ACT, shared his excitement about the club’s formation, stating, “The Advertising Club Trivandrum is a dream realized for many of us in the industry. Our mission is to create a platform where creativity meets collaboration, enabling professionals to connect, learn, and grow together. This is just the beginning of an exciting journey.”
Vishnu Vijay, Secretary of ACT, added, “This Club is a collective effort by passionate individuals from the industry who believe in the power of collaboration. We’re committed to organizing events, workshops, and forums that will benefit the industry and its professionals.”
The club’s formation marks a new chapter in the advertising landscape of Trivandrum. With its well-defined objectives, the Advertising Club Trivandrum plans to lead the way in redefining advertising and marketing standards in the region. The newly formed Managing Committee includes professionals like Krishnanunni (The Hindu), Krishnakumar (Malayala Manorama), Santosh Kumar (Mathrubhumi TV), Pradeep Prabhakar (News Malayalam), Geetha G. Nair (Hues Advertising), Thanseer (Adworld), and Pratheesh (Club FM).
Additionally, an Advisory Board has been established, consisting of senior advertising and media professionals such as Koshy Abraham (Malayala Manorama), K.K. Joshy (The Hindu), R. Raghunath (Mediamate), Roy Mathew (Stark Communications), and Deepu S. (Asianet).
With its mission to foster a culture of collaboration and innovation, the Advertising Club Trivandrum is poised to become a key player in shaping the future of advertising and marketing in Kerala.
