Chennai: In a continued effort to bridge the gap between academia and the advertising industry, the Advertising Club Madras has launched Student Chapters in several leading colleges and universities across Tamil Nadu. The initiative has expanded rapidly, with new chapters now at MEPCO School of Management Studies, Sivakasi, and the Department of Communication, Madurai Kamaraj University, in addition to Trichy Government Arts College and Apollo Institute of Hospital Management and Allied Science.
This expansion aims to provide students with real-world insights and skills through direct engagement with industry leaders. The recent partnership with MEPCO School of Management Studies and the Department of Communication at Madurai Kamaraj University marks a significant milestone, with 159 students from MEPCO enrolling in the Advertising Club Madras Student Membership Program.
As part of the program, students attended customized workshops and sessions, including “What is PR?” by Mr. Ramkumar Singaram, Executive Committee Member and Co-founder/Director of Catalyst Public Relations Pvt Ltd.; “Ideas and Advertising” by Mr. Ravindran Solomon, Executive Committee Member and Founder/CEO of Soloverse; and “Career Counselling” by the Ad Club Madras team. These sessions are designed to enhance students’ understanding of the advertising, media, and communication sectors.
Commenting on the initiative, S.
