Bangalore: The Ad Club Bangalore successfully conducted the second episode of its Inspiration Room series at 2 Moons Bangalore, featuring Ian Schubach, a former African Safari Guide, adventurer, leadership coach and CEO of Red Leaf & Co-Founder of Tracking Success. The event, held on May 16th, offered a captivating exploration of business leadership and teamwork through the lens of animals in the African wilderness.
The Ad Club Bangalore also announced that a new episode of Inspiration Room will be conducted on the third Thursday of every month.
Ian Schubach: A Unique Perspective on Leadership
Ian Schubach brought a wealth of knowledge and compelling insights to the event, drawing on his extensive experience in the African bush—a setting known for its complex and competitive ecosystems. Schubach’s talk highlighted the parallels between the survival strategies of the big 5 in the savannah and the dynamics of successful business teams. He focused on the characteristics and behaviours of four iconic African animals – lions (teamwork), giraffe (leadership), leopards (resilience) and elephants (community) illustrating how these magnificent animals can inspire business teams to achieve sustained success. Attendees were treated to captivating stories and interactive documentaries, making the session both informative and entertaining.
Building More Effective Leaders and Teams
The event underscored Schubach’s core message: businesses can thrive in challenging environments by adopting strategies from the natural world. He shared actionable insights on teamwork, leadership, resilience and community, drawing direct comparisons between the resilience of African wildlife and the demands of the corporate world.
“India’s rich wildlife and varied ecosystems provide an unparalleled resource for learning about leadership and teamwork. The natural world has so much to teach us, and I am eager to explore a program in India along with my partner in India, Balaji Kalyan that draws on these lessons to help businesses thrive in a competitive environment,” said Ian Schubach, CEO of Red Leaf & Co-Founder of Tracking Success.
“We are thrilled with the success of the second episode of Inspiration Room. Ian Schubach’s unique perspective on leadership and teamwork provided our community with invaluable insights. His ability to draw parallels between the African wilderness and the corporate world was truly inspiring, and it resonated deeply with our audience,” said Laeeq Ali, Founder of Origami Creative and President of Ad Club Bangalore. “This event exemplifies our commitment to bringing diverse and thought-provoking content to our members.”
Nishad Ramachandran, Partner at Spread Design & Innovation and a member of the Executive Committee at the Bangalore AdClub chipped in “we imagined the Inspiration Room to be a way of bringing in people with diverse experiences and stories to tell. And Ian’s session showcased this point very well. The plan is to have an Inspiration Room event every month and we have a few speakers lined up for the next six months. So agencies and people who have signed up to become members of the Bangalore AdClub will have access to some high quality experiences coming to them month on month.”
