Abhay Ojha, Zee Media’s CEO, candidly shared his departure news on LinkedIn, including details on his resignation circumstances.
Ojha shared in a post to his network on Monday that he decided to resign after a deep talk with the company’s promoter on Saturday evening, promptly submitting his resignation due to the critical nature of his role and upcoming move to a competitor.
“I have stepped down from my role as CEO at Zee Media by sending a formal resignation. The decision came after a profound conversation with the promoter on Saturday at 8 PM, which led to my resignation. Although my original terms of appointment included a notice period, the critical nature of my role and my impending shift to a competitor necessitated an immediate handover,” the post read.
“Consequently, the management instructed one of the senior leaders to visit my residence at 10:30 PM to collect the company assets, including my laptop.”
Abhay Ojha addressed the timeline of events leading up to his departure, emphasizing that he remained dedicated to fulfilling his responsibilities until the very end.
Expressing gratitude to his colleagues and supporters at Zee Media, Ojha shared his excitement for the future and his intention to continue contributing meaningfully to the industry.
“As I transition into this new chapter, I look forward to letting my connections know the truth and look forward to continuing contributing to the industry in new and meaningful ways. Thank you to everyone who has supported me during my time at Zee Media. I am eager to stay connected and see what the future holds,” the post read.
