Mumbai: Aaj Tak has captured the lion’s share of market at 25.4 % in the news genre.
“Aaj Tak is the only leading National News channel to continue this dominance across both the urban and rural sector. This feat that all other channels are still striving to achieve, Aaj Tak has been accomplishing incessantly since more than past 21 years,” read a statement from the company.
Aaj Tak boasts of highest market share of 25.4 % amongst 8 opt-in Hindi news channels, followed by TV9 Bharatvarsh (21.4%) and Republic TV (19.9%). Being the mass favourite news channel across the HSM market, Aaj Tak scored the highest in Urban & rural sector too with 27.0% and 23.2% respectively.
“Data evaluation figures by Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) proves that Aaj Tak has consistently been the preferred news channel choice of India and has recurrently left its competitors, new and old long behind in the viewership contest,” the company statement further read.
The latest data release by BARC for year 2022 is governed by ADRS (Augmented Data Reporting Standard) which has 4 week rolling average.
