Mumbai : As informed earlier on tvnews4u.com Multi- Screen Media has rebranding itself as Sony Pictures Networks (SPN).
Speaking about the same, NP Singh, CEO, Sony Pictures Networks India, said, “Yes, Sony Pictures Networks (SPN). That’s our new name, our new identity. That’s who we are now. For over 20 years, we’ve not only served audiences worldwide but also set trends for television entertainment in India and we’ve brought out new shows, new programme formats and introduced a variety of genres. We have been pioneers.”
“We’ve intrinsically defined how cinema and cricket are viewed on Indian television. We’ve introduced audiences to television gaming and exclusive digital-only content. So, in the last 20 years, we’ve successfully experimented with many firsts,” he added.
Now that it is poised to leverage the experiential credibility to do more for audiences, the broadcaster is priming itself to become the first choice of entertainment in the country. So, there is a new wave of optimism that is guiding them.
“We are embarking on a new journey. The new identity will be our signature as we progressively evolve television and digital entertainment,” Singh stated.
Commenting on why the name ‘Sony Pictures Networks’, Singh said, “Our channels in India represent an important part of the Sony Pictures Television’s global portfolio and as we celebrate bringing the best entertainment to viewers in India for 20 years, it’s only fitting that these channels be branded as part of our Sony family.”
Undoubtedly, the Sony brand stands for innovation, creativity and delight, and SPN will bring the same features to its viewers. Moreover, this signifies complete alignment with the parent company.
On SPN’s key focus areas, Singh highlighted that Sony Pictures Networks will focus on general entertainment, sports and digital.
“With a comprehensive bouquet of varied channels and aggressive growth plans, including new genres and expansion of our distribution footprint, we are equipping ourselves to serve our viewers in urban areas, in rural areas and across global geographies,” he added.
Overall, the focus will remain on becoming the first choice in television and digital entertainment. With such a buzzing 2015, Sony Pictures Networks is geared up for the year to come.
