Chennai : Various journalists bodies in Chennai staged an united demonstration against the K. Chandrasekar Rao’s (KCR) Telangana government’s atrocities and hate speeches against the Media and demanded lifting of unlawful ban on Telugu news channels TV9 and ABN Andhrajyothi in front of Chennai Press Club on Monday 22nd September.
The united Journalists associations strongly condemned the hate speech of Telangana CM K. Chandrasekar Rao’s hate speech and anti media activities that suppresses the right to freedom of speech and expression, which is a fundamental rights of Democracy and lambasted the failure of Telangana Government in protecting the same.
During the demonstration Journos raised strongly worded slogans against the KCR government and launched a memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President of India Pranab Mukherjee to intervene in this issue and find a solution to remove the indefinite illegal ban on TV9 and ABN.
The memorandum also declared that their agitation will continue until the restoration of transmission of TV9 and ABN in Telangana and the protest will be taken to next level by way of spreading it to all over India and the national capital New Delhi to attract the attention of central government to act against the erring Telangana government.
