Ad agency McCann Worldgroup has appointed a new chief marketing officer for Asia Pacific.
Jessica Davey, global client director of Geometry Global in London, joins McCann as regional CMO replacing Richard Newman, who brings to an end more than four years with the agency having joined from Contagious in 2011.
The appointment marks a return to the region for Davey, who was previously with Ogilvy in Asia, including a four-year stint in Singapore where she will now be based.
Newman’s next move was unclear at the time of publishing.
Charles Cadell, McCann Worldgroup Asia Pacific’s president said: “Jessica has significant Asia experience having worked in China, Hong Kong and Singapore. Her passion and drive, combined with her extensive experience to deliver impactful integrated creative marketing solutions for multi-national brands is impressive. We’re delighted to welcome Jess back to Asia and into the McCann Worldgroup network.”
Davey added: “McCann is a network with a lot of momentum in new business, great capability across disciplines and a real appetite to do some groundbreaking work. As a region, Asia still has a lot of growth opportunity both in creative excellence and in scale. The winners will be those agencies developing great brand ideas that can be activated with local insight, across channels. McCann is uniquely positioned in that regard and I am really enthusiastic about the next stage of its growth in the region.”
During her time at Geometry Global, Davey worked with clients including Coca-Cola, Unilever, Philips, Heineken and Mondelez.
