BBDO has announced a change of leadership in Malaysia following the departure of long-serving executive Michelle Achuthan.
Achuthan, who was appointed MD in 2011, moves on after 12 years with the company. She joined in 2003 as business director working on clients including Mars, Wrigley, FedEx, Fonterra, ICI and Visa. She is leaving to take a break from the industry.
John Teoh, the agency’s general manager, succeeds Achuthan as MD with immediate effect.
Jean-Paul Burge, chairman and CEO, BBDO Asia said: “Michelle has been a great colleague over the years. We will all miss her and wish her well for her future endeavours. I have full confidence that John can take up where she’s left off and continue to develop the agency into the best in Malaysia.”
John Teoh is an advertising veteran with 20 years experience across brands such as Maxis, KFC, HSBC, Petronas and Tourism Malaysia. He joined BBDO in 2011 from Euro RSCG as business head and was appointed GM less than a year ago.
