Chennai : Zee Entertainment has its presence in three South Indian languages Tamil, Telugu and Kannada through its Regional channels Zee Tamizh, Zee Telugu and Zee Kannada respectively. Market sources confirmed that the Zee management has initiated a top level changes in its south ad sales team with couple of senior level appointments.
As per the Sources the media giant has roped in Mr. K. Subramanyam (popularly known as Subbu) as Senior Vice President for south cluster sales and Mr. Girija Shankar Rao as the National Sales Head for Zee Tamizh channel. Mr. Subbu has a career spanning more than two decades in Media sales in the national arena based on his association with Media groups like ETV Network and Maa Network.
It is understood that Mr. Subbu will be heading the Sales for south cluster channels namely Zee Tamil, Zee Telugu and Zee Kannada and he will be responsible for developing the ad sales revenue in South Region, Apparently, the Sales heads of all these three South channels will be reporting to him and in addition to that Subbu is also likely to handle the sales of south based advertisers and clients for all other Zee Cluster channels in National market including the flagship channel Zee TV.
On the other hand Mr. Girija Shankar Rao is likely to head the National sales for Zee Tamizh and he will be reporting to Mr. Subbu who will be operating from the Zee Kannada office in Bangalore. It may be noted that Girija shankar had a long association with Star Vijay as national sales head and moved to Polimer TV for a short stint before moving to the current position with Zee Group. Subbu was unavailable for comments on this development.
