Mangalore: Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM has launched its maiden edition of ‘Made In Mangalore’, an initiative that the radio station describes as the largest search ever for greatest invention that the city has come up with.
Celebrating Mangaluru’s creative, awe-inspiring innovations in various fields is the prime focus of this event, which will also serve as a platform that contributes to providing recognition to the city’s very own innovators, RJ Kiran Shenoy said.
Like any other talent search, Radio Mirchi Made In Mangalore will crown the best invention from a large group of inventors and this will be fulfilled through process of registration. The select few registered inventions will make it to the top 10, and these inventors will get to showcase their inventions before a large audience.
Panel of judges will judge these top 10 inventions giving the audiences their final three inventors from where winner of Radio Mirchi Made In Mangalore will be crowned.
All participants will be felicitated on the day of the event for their participation and contribution towards Radio Mirchi Made In Mangalore. Auditions are open to individuals and teams and to enter contestants need to explain concept along with their product.
The invention must be something that is unique and made exclusively in Mangalore and its surroundings. While auditions are open to anyone of any age, those under 18-years must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Participants can register inventions that fall under the sectors of technology, art and design and other sectors. Under technology, the sub-sectors will be mechanical, electronics, software and application, gadgets and automobile.
Under art and design the sub-sectors will be paintings, sculptures, mosaics, fashion designing, jewellery designing and miniature crafts. Other sectors will mean any invention that has helped make everyday living easier, Kiran said.
