Mumbai : One of the most successful historical series on Zee TV, Jodha Akbaris coming to an end on 7th August 2015.
Jodha Akbar will be replaced by a modern day romance series Tashan-e-Ishq, which will be commencing from 10th August and it will aired on every Monday to Friday at 8.00 pm.
Speaking on the development Zee TV’s Business Head Pradeep Hejmadi, said, “Being a historical serial, ‘Jodha Akbar’ had a finite storytelling to it. It had completed its quantum of storytelling.”
Creative Head Sujata Rao, said, “There were a lot of historical points which were still to be explored, but I really can’t comment on the channel’s decision to shut down the show. We’ve had a wonderful experience and we want to end the show on a good note. We hope that ratings increase in the final episodes and people would then crave for a second season of ‘Jodha Akbar’.”
Jodha Akbar series was produced by Balaji Telefilms Ltd. and it was launched in June 2013 and the show has completed around 560 episodes and it was rated as one of the most popular shows in the recent times of Hindi TV market.
“Maybe the audiences were looking forward to a continuation of the Jodha-Akbar story, but how long can you pull off a Jodha-Akbar? This was not fiction, but a piece of history and so we have to move with it,” Sujata Rao added.
