Mumbai : FMCG major P&G has signed Anushka Sharma as its new brand ambassador for Pantene, replacing Shilpa Shetty who was the face of the shampoo so far.
The deal in the works for the last few months will feature the 27-year-old actor and producer as the face of the brand from the end of this month. Sharma, has been signed for Rs 4-5 crore in a one year deal, extendable to two years with an escalation.
With a typical celebrity endorsement deal signed for 4-5 days a year, Sharma’s price for a day’s work comes to about Rs 1 crore, a fact her talent management team at YRF confirms.
This deal would bring Sharma’s price close to the top actors such as Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra, who are paid close to Rs 1.5-2 crore a day.
Confirming Sharma as the new face of Pantene, though not willing to comment on the deal worth, a spokesperson from P&G said: “Anushka is independent, intelligent, young and spunky . We wanted a celebrity endorser who is real, relatable and personifies the dynamism of our Pantene consumer.
Sharma has always pushed the boundaries when it comes to choosing her roles or re-defining her looks. Her versatile image appeals to the youth. With her hair, Anushka has always chosen to be experimentative, setting trends for young girls to follow.”
Pantene has had many Bollywood actors endorsing it like Katrina Kaif and Preity Zinta before this.
