Coca-Cola has launched its new low-calorie drink Coca-Cola Life, it’s been eight years since Coke had rolled out a new product in UK.
From 21st August onwards the drink will be available in supermarkets across Great Britain and aims to offer consumers a different option to Coca-Cola, Diet Coke and Coke Zero with its combination of sugar and stevia leaf extract which is attractive to people on carbohydrate-controlled diets due to its negligible effects on blood sugar.
The launch of Coca-Cola Life forms part of the drinks giant’s drive to shake of its unhealthy image, which contains a third less sugar and a third fewer calories than regular cola,
Jon Woods, general manager Coca-Cola UK and Ireland said: “We are committed to working with others across society to promote well-being and help address the public health challenge of obesity.
“As part of these efforts, we have taken steps to provide consumers with more drink choices, including more lower calorie drinks and smaller pack sizes as well as a significant investment to support programmes to help people become more physically active.”
Earlier this year, Coca-Cola GB announced it would invest £20m in physical activity programmes through to 2020, in an effort to help get one million people active.
It may be noted that of-late the international brands like Mc Donalds are trying their best to shed their Junk food image due to the growing obesity rate across the world due the consumption of aerated drinks like cola and junk foods like Pizzaas and Burgers.
Coca-Cola Life is available in a 330ml can, 500ml bottle, 1.75L bottle, 6 x 330ml can multipack, and 8 x 330ml can multipack.
