New Delhi : It’s quite that common many of us keep blaming the politicians for all our owes and never thought twice of doing it as they are the easy targets for bad mouthing. Few RJs even go extra mile to make fun out of them. Not any more, Henceforth, RJs need to be extremely careful in pulling the politicians name particularly MPs, otherwise they will face the wrath of the Government.
Jokes cracked at the expense of Parliamentarians by radio jockeys might soon be a thing of the past. Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javadekar has said that the Government is taking the matter seriously and is considering what action needs to be taken on this issue.
The issue of RJs airing jokes on MPs and mimicking them was raised in the Rajya Sabha by Jaya Bachchan, actress and Samajwadi Party MP.
Bachchan noted that the language used by RJs on private FM radio is “extremely objectionable”. “Now they have started giving news of Parliament and they mimic a lot of MPs,” she added.
The Samajwadi Party MP wanted to know what steps the Government plans to take to curb such jokes and mimicry.
