Telecinco has issued the first audition call for its version of Got Talent, which is returning to the Spanish market after a six-year absence.
The show was first formatted in Spain by Cuatro in 2008 as Tienes Talento. Fremantle Media España is now producing a new season for Telecinco with the title Got Talent España .
There are now 68 versions of the hit format from Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment. In its history, 270 seasons have been produced and tape sales have taken the show to 186 territories. Recent adaptations include a pan-Asian version for AXN, and Mongolia is gearing up for its first Got Talent this year.
The format is marking its tenth anniversary; the first version, for NBC in the U.S., remains a stalwart of the broadcast network’s summer schedule. “I’m always keen to remind people that America’s Got Talent is by far the most successful global format,” Paul Telegdy, NBC’s president of late night and alternative programming, said recently. “It’s an absolute cornerstone of this network’s year-round schedule. We put it on between May and September, which is a sleepy time of TV in the U.S., but it’s been a juggernaut ten years running—the number one show of the summer.” added Paul.
Got Talent España is expected to hit the screens in Spain shortly.
