Bangalore : Star India’s Kannada GEC Suvarna is gearing up for the show down of its most popular reality show Halli Hyda Pyateg Banda Season 2 shortly.
The concept of Halli Hyda Pyateg Banda Season 2 is a makeover format that involves the boys from Tribal Villages in interior Karnataka, who will be paired with a city girl to act as a mentor to change the tribal boys to fit in to the metro urban culture and meet various tasks to emerge victorious.
Suvarna has just launched the teaser of Halli Hyda Pyateg Banda Season 2 and it is yet to announce the launch date and time of the new reality show.
The first season of Halli Hyda Pyateg Banda launched in 2010 has delivered good ratings for Suvarna despite huge controversies on the culture and behavior of participants of the reality show.
“Halli Hyda Pyatege Banda” which literally means Village lads lands in the city…!, deals with eight rural boys comes to the city with eight city girls and gets trained by the girls and how they survive in the competitive city.
During the first season eight tribal boys Rajkumar, Nagendra, Manjunath, Nagaraj, Ketha, Soma, Rajesh and Muttha participated and Rajesh hailing from Balle forest in H D Kote taluk emerged as winners and won the prize money of Rs 10 lakh.
Rajesh also landed the role of a hero in Kannada movie ‘Jungle Jackie’, in which he was paired opposite Aishwarya, who was his mentor in the reality show. He also acted in another movie titled ‘Love is Poison’
However, Rajesh aka Halli Hyda Pyateg Banda Rajesh was unable to handle the success and growing popularity and landed himself in a psychiatric hospital for metal breakdown in July 2012.
Rajesh apparently died on 4th November 2013 after a fall from the second floor of his house in Mysore, which is shrouded in mystery, though it is suspected that Mr. Rajesh must have committed suicide according to his mother Lakshmamma.
Suvarna has aired the first season of Halli Hyda Pyateg Banda during the weekdays Monday to Friday at 8pm and its is likely to slot Halli Hyda Pyateg Banda Season 2 in the same time-band.
Suvarna is trying desperately to regain its lost ground as the channel has dropped down to no.3 position next to Colors Kannada and Udaya TV.
