Chennai : “Puthyugam” satellite channel has bolstered its evening slots with devotional series “Nayanmargal” which was well received by the audience due to its uniqueness and never before attempt on visualizing the historic ancient stories on the 63 prime devotees of Lord shiva with each one of them having a testimonial story on their devotion and sacrifice due to the affection towards the Lord.
“Nayanmargal” serial completed 200th episode on Puthuyugam on 8th August 2014. This series narrates the biography of the 63 Nayanmars. These devotional poets of Lord Shiva lived during 5th Century to 10th Century based in South India. These Nayanmars were from different backgrounds from kings to soldiers to hunters. Each of these Nayanmars has great history and stories associated with them and their devotion towards reaching god.
These stories have been comprehensively researched over a period of three years. Unlike other tales of myth and fantasy these stories will be based more on actual events with the historical facts being checked.
“Nayanmargal” serial has successfully brought the famous Thiruneelagandar, Mara Nayanar, Kurumba Nayanar, Kannappa Nayanar, Karaikal Ammaiyar, Eripatha Nayanar, Pughaz chozha Nayanar stories on screen. In continuation, the story of Amarneethi Nayanar has begun.
Amarneethi Nayanar was born in Thirunallur in Chozha kingdom. He was a devotee of lord Shiva. He built a math to feed Shiva devotees and gave them clothes as offering to them. One day Lord Shiva comes to his math disguised and tests his worship. What happened next is history.
