New Delhi : Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has initiated a move to clean up the system of processing the applications for MSO license in DAS areas to keep the middle man at bay by introducing various transparency measures in the processing system.
The idea of organizes Open House Meeting, every Tuesday at 11.00 hrs. in the Room of Director (BP&L) at Shastri Bhavan, New Delhi for any doubt or enquiry about status of their applications by sending an email request to the concerned officer in advance is seen as a major step to restrict the mischievous middle man and also to iron out the red-tapeism at the bureaucrat levels also.
The notification form Mr. Shanker Lal the Deputy Secretary of DAS reads as following:
It has come to the notice of this Ministry that some persons are approaching MSO applicants with false claims for providing MSO licenses and demanding some gratifications/bribe to get the work done.
In this connection, it is informed that this Ministry adopts very transparent way in dealing with issuance of MSO licenses. As per requirement, MSO applications with all details furnished are forwarded to Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for obtaining Security Clearance. As soon as the requisite Security Clearance or otherwise is received from MHA, each case is processed, accordingly.
All MSO applicants are, therefore, requested/advised not to deal with such authorized/mischievous persons. This Ministry organizes Open House Meeting, every Tuesday at 11.00 hrs. in the Room of Director (BP&L) in Room No.662, A Wing 6rn Floor Shastri Bhavan, New Delhi. For any doubt or enquiry about status of their applications, they may participate/ attend the Open House Meeting by sending an email at [email protected] or at [email protected] . In case they are not able to come in person, they can enquire about status of their file by sending an email to the above mentioned email ID.
It may be noted that the Application for the License of MSO or Satellite Channel to acquire the permission for up-linking and down linking is surrounded by middle men posing to be close to politicians and officials assuring of getting the job done in fast track mode.
The current notification from MIB and their initiative to implementing transparency by conducting regular open house meeting to know the status of the application is a much needed measure and was also welcomed by the industry whole heartedly.
