Mumbai : The ratings for the first five matches of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season have seen a 42 per cent jump to 4.5 TVR, as per data released by TAM for CS 4+ All India. Pepsi IPL 2015 is being aired on Sony Max, Sony six, Sony Kix and Sony Aath.
In the previous edition of the tournament, the first five matches had registered 3.1 TVR. Overall, 39 per cent of the All India Universe tuned in to watch IPL 8 matches.
In terms of TVTs, IPL8 has garnered 11,983 average TVTs, which is 43 per cent more than season 7 which had reported 8,364 average TVTs.
TAM indicates that the first five matches of IPL 8 were sampled by 105 million unique viewers. The time spent by viewers per match has registered a 22 per cent increase from last year, and is now 51 minutes and 44 seconds.
The opening ceremony failed to attract viewers and garnered only 0.94 TVR. At 5.4 TVR, the highest rated match out the first five games was the Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Mumbai Indians held on 8th April which reported 5.4 per cent TVR, the Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Royal Challengers Bangalore held on 11th April garnered 5.3 per cent TVR.
