Mumbai : Malvika Mehra, National Creative Director at Grey Group, has put in her papers, Mehra had joined Grey in May 2010 and is currently serving her notice period till end of May 2015.
Sunil Lulla, Chairman and Managing Director, Grey Group India, confirmed the development and said, “Over the years Malvika has contributed in a significant way to the agency, and we are grateful for her commitment. It is great that she has planned to do things differently, and we would like to wish her luck for her future plans.”
Commenting on her plans to step down, Malvika Mehra informed that she wants to take a break from advertising. “This is high time for ‘me’ time. After working 16 years at Ogilvy and another five at Grey, I think I owe myself a break. I also want to take some time out to perhaps look at adventures outside of advertising. We are a self-obsessed industry and I would really like to see where I personally stand without the three alphabets ‘NCD’ next to my name. For a bit at least,” Mehra said.
Mehra informed that she intends to finish all her commitments to clients before 31st May, and is particularly excited about finishing the Indian Army campaign comprising two films before she leaves. She is also hoping that Grey brings home Cannes Lions this year, too. “’I will be cheering the loudest from the audience if that indeed does happen,” she said.
Together with her Creative Partner Amit Akali, were responsible for winning businesses like Reliance Telecom, Honda Brio and Dell in the early years. As the sole NCD of Grey for the last one year, Mehra along with her teams has won businesses like the Indian Army, the Swachch Bharat initiative for the Prime Minister as well as the Ministry of Women and Child Development under Maneka Gandhi.
