Chennai : As per the ratings of week 6 for the South GECs, Tamil Nadu, Kerala market witnessed a marginal drop in viewership and AP market witnessed a overall surge in viewership, while Karnataka market didn’t see major changes.
In the Tamil Nadu market, Sun TV’s ratings dipped to 222,062 GVTs in week 6 compared with 230,581 a week ago. Vijay also saw its viewership drop to 66,863 GVTs against 75,900 the last week. Zee Tamil’s ratings dipped to 23,110 GVTs compared with 24,607 in week 5. Kalaignar TV also saw its viewership slip to 20,375 GVTs this week from 24,783 in week 5. Jaya TV recorded 13,431 GVTs against 16,991 a week ago. Mega TV’s ratings slipped to 5936 GVTs from 6097 the previous week. Captain TV recorded 3467 GVTs against 4115 in week 5. Raj TV was the only channel in the Tamil GEC market, which recorded an increase in viewership this week. The channel recorded 19,519 GVTs compared with 17,044 in week 5.
In the Kerala market, Asianet’s ratings dropped to 56,477 GVTs this week from 61,112 in week 5. Surya TV at No. 2 also saw its viewership fall to 15,185 GVTs from 16,566 a week ago. Mazhavil Manorama’s ratings dropped considerably to 14,305 GVTs this week from 17,307 in week 5. Asianet Plus also saw its ratings dip this week to 5004 GVTs from 5753 in week 5. Kairali’s ratings fell to 4487 GVTs this week from 6361 the previous week. Amrita’s ratings increased to 2660 GVTs from 1894 in week 5.
Among News channels is Kerala Market Manorama News stood on top position with 751 GVTs followed by Asianet News with 655 GVT. Mathrubhumi News stood at No. 3 with 373 GVTs, Reports stood at No. 4 with 360 GVTs and People TV stood at No. 5 with 184 GVTs
In the Karnataka GEC space, Udaya’s ratings declined to 76,166 GVTs this week from 83,990 a week ago. ETV Kannada saw its ratings increase to 56,757 GVTs from 52,342 in week 5. Suvarna also witnessed a marginal rise in viewership. The channel recorded 44,297 GVTs against 44,211 a week ago. Zee Kannada’s ratings dropped to 33,022 GVTs this week from 34,817 in week 5. Kasthuri’s ratings increased this week to 8664 GVTs from 7251 the previous week.
In the Andhra Pradesh market, Gemini TV’s regained its top spot with its ratings increase to 104,070 GVTs in week 6 from 91,093 a week ago. Maa TV dropped to No. 2 spot saw decline in its ratings. The channel recorded 95,127 GVTs compared with 106,835 in week 5. ETV Telugu climbed to No.3 spot, saw its ratings shoot up to 92,411 GVTs in week 6 from 87,848 a week ago. Zee Telugu’s ratings declined to 86,947 GVTs from 91,733 in week 5. Vissa saw its viewership rise to 241 GVTs this week from 138 the previous week.
